Verrucole Castle - View over the Garfagnano Countryside from the castle. Like many castles in the Gargagnano and the adjacent Lunigiana, it was free to visit and poke around in, although a bit of a climb from the small village of the same name. The Verrucole castle you see here was the result of six years of restoration, transforming it into one of the most evocative castles in Tuscany.
